Beginner Barre

Here's a nice beginner-level barre class from Italia Conti, that's perfect for doing at home.  The combinations are nicely explained first, then you can follow the dancer as she performs them with music.  I like that the video shows the dancer both from the front and the back, as she performs the combinations.  It gives you a good perspective of how your body should be moving.

KEEP IT SAFE:  The plie combination at the beginning of the barre class includes grand plies.  I recommend substituting demi plies for these, since grand plies can be hard on your knees.  As always, only do what your body can comfortably and safely manage.  Skip or modify anything that causes you pain or discomfort.
