Positive Mindset Shifts

Ballet is challenging; no question about it.  There's always something to improve upon, and we rarely get everything exactly right.  Then, there's always the temptation to compare yourself to others in class, or to be too self-critical (ballet tends to attract perfectionists).

That's why it's important to maintain a positive mindset, in class.  Your priority should be to enjoy the experience, and leave feeling fulfilled, no matter whether you "totally rocked it" or "just gave it a good try."

I enjoyed this video from Kirsten, at The Confident Dancer, talking about three positive mindset shifts that can help you stay in a better head space while dancing.  I especially liked her last idea about keeping a "let's just see" attitude toward dancing.  It's not only good advice when dancing, it's great advice for life as well!
