Simple but Hard Ballet Class, with Kathryn Morgan
I like this ballet class from Kathryn Morgan. It was a members-only online class she did several years back, but she has released it now on YouTube, for everyone to try. Kathryn calls this class "Simple But Hard." I like to think of it as "Simple But Hard, with Soft Options."
The combinations are uncomplicated, which make them great for beginners, or those who want to really focus on precision. Kathryn introduces difficulty by including options to release the barre throughout the class. If you're up for a challenge, go ahead and try the "no barre" options. But if you want to keep it "Just Simple," either skip the part where she releases the barre, or keep hold of the barre -- your preference. You can also feel free to skip the jumps at the end, if your knees or pelvic floor are not up for the challenge.
Kathryn doesn't give intros to each combination; they're very much "follow along." If want an intro, just play each combo through to watch, then rewind and join Kathrine in the exercise.
KEEPT IT SAFE: As always, you should be conscious of your body's abilities and limitations and skip or modify anything that isn't right for your body.
This class is also archived on the "At Home" page of our Class website.
