Return Yoga Series with Adriene -- Week 1: "Sense"
Adriene, at Yoga with Adriene, has a new series for January, called "Return" that invites us to come back -- back to the mat, back to the breath, back to the quiet knowing that’s been here all along.
I really love Adriene's yoga videos on YouTube. She has a very calming presence and her yoga sessions are always comfortable and make my body feel more connected with itself and with my mind.
This special four-part series is inspired by Adriene's Saturday mornings as a child and now, Sunday mornings as an adult. She is offering a once-a-week ritual that offers an opportunity to return to what matters most. Of course, this may not land on a Saturday or Sunday for you, but go ahead and make it your own by choosing one time during the week to practice with "Return." The series will include: Week 1 Sense; Week 2 Ground; Week 3 Listen; Week 4 Center. Each practice is a soft landing, a gentle re-orientation, a way of remembering yourself in the midst of a new year. At the end of the month, for Week 5, she will gather us virtually with a live community practice to honor what we’ve tended together.
Here's the first practice in the series -- "Sense" -- which invites you to return to a felt sense.
Through yoga asana and steady breath, we reconnect with how the body actually feels from the inside out. This kind of sensing helps settle the nervous system, supports clearer thinking, and brings the body and brain back into conversation. A mindful reset and a soft beginning to the Return series and to the fresh new year. Enjoy!
