Prix de Lausanne Ballet Class with Cynthia Harvey

Want to see some young, aspiring dancers put through their paces by a ballet legend?  Check out this ballet class, led by Cynthia Harvey, from the Prix de Lausanne, Junior Girls, Summer Intensive 2025.

Cynthia was one of the dancers I admired, as a girl, in the 1970s.  She's a local, born in San Rafael, California, and she danced with the American Ballet Theater (in New York) and later the Royal Ballet (in London).

The Prix de Lausanne is a prestigious international competition for young dancers aged 15-18 in Lausanne, Switzerland, aimed at discovering and promoting talent to help them launch professional ballet careers.  Held annually, it offers scholarships to top international schools and companies, provides year-round training programs, and includes a non-profit foundation that supports choreographic art and the well-being of dancers.

It is a joy to watch these young ladies and witness their amazing talent.  You'll see that, even though they do harder combinations in this class, they also do a lot of the basics covered in our class.  That's the cool thing about ballet; even the really good dancers go back to the basics to solidify their technique.  Enjoy watching!
